Fake images of Nayanthara appearing bald during a Tirumala temple visit have spread across social media. A comparison with the original photographs shows that her hair was digitally removed.
Morphed Images Fuel False Claims
Actor Nayanthara has become the subject of a wave of digitally altered photographs circulating on social media, with the images falsely suggesting that she shaved her head during a recent visit to the Tirumala temple.
The pictures began circulating on X, formerly known as Twitter, where several users claimed that the actor had gone bald during a temple visit ahead of the release of her upcoming film Toxic.
The viral photographs appear to show Nayanthara with a completely shaved head as she visits the Tirumala temple. However, the images have been digitally manipulated. A comparison with the original photographs shows that her hair was present in the pictures from the actual visit.
The photographs being altered are from Nayanthara’s Tirumala visit in April, when she travelled to the temple with her husband, director Vignesh Shivan.
Original Photographs Tell a Different Story
In the original pictures, Nayanthara can clearly be seen with her hair untouched. The doctored versions preserve several elements from the authentic photographs, including the actor’s clothing and earrings, while removing her hair digitally to create the appearance of a shaved head.
The similarities between the original and altered photographs make the manipulation particularly apparent. Rather than depicting a new or different moment from the temple visit, the viral images are modified versions of photographs that had already been taken.
Several social media users have also highlighted signs of digital manipulation in the photographs, with some suggesting that artificial intelligence or other digital editing techniques may have been used to create the altered images.
There is no credible evidence to establish that Nayanthara shaved her head during her visit to Tirumala. The circulating images therefore do not provide a factual basis for claims that she performed such an act at the temple.
False Images Surface as Toxic Release Nears
The controversy comes as Nayanthara remains in the spotlight for a number of major film projects. Her next release is Geetu Mohandas’ Toxic, which stars Yash in the lead role.
The film also features Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, Rukmini Vasanth and Huma Qureshi in pivotal roles.
Toxic is set against the scenic backdrop of Goa and explores the darker side of the coastal destination. The story centres on a ruthless narcotics syndicate operating from the shadows.
The film is produced by KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations and is scheduled to arrive in theatres on August 26.
The circulation of the manipulated Tirumala photographs comes at a time when attention around the film and its cast is already high. The false images have consequently attracted social media attention despite not representing what was shown in the original photographs.
Another Major Film With Salman Khan
Alongside Toxic, Nayanthara is also set to appear opposite Salman Khan in another major project.
The film is currently being referred to by the tentative title SVC63 and is directed by Vamshi Paidipally.
With Nayanthara involved in multiple high-profile projects, her public appearances and photographs continue to attract considerable attention online. In the case of the Tirumala images, however, the photographs being shared as evidence of a shaved head have been altered from the originals.
The authentic pictures from her April visit with Vignesh Shivan show her with her hair intact, contradicting the claims accompanying the viral versions.
The episode highlights how an edited photograph can circulate online while retaining enough details from an authentic image to appear genuine. In this instance, the original photographs provide a clear comparison and show that the apparent change to Nayanthara’s appearance was digitally created rather than captured during her Tirumala visit.
