A 21-year-old woman was found dead with multiple stab injuries in Hyderabad’s Balapur area, with police suspecting that her lover killed her following a dispute between the two. The victim, identified as Rehana, was allegedly attacked with a knife during an argument, according to the preliminary investigation.

The incident came to light in Bismillah Colony, within the limits of Balapur Police Station. Police suspect that Mohammed Salam, who had been in a relationship with Rehana, was responsible for the killing. Investigators are also examining whether others were involved in the incident and whether they helped move the body after the attack.

Relationship Turned Into Conflict

Rehana, who was originally from Bihar, had been living in Bismillah Colony under the Pahadi Shareef Police Station limits. She was working at a function hall in the area.

It was at the same function hall that she met Mohammed Salam. The two became acquainted while working together and eventually entered into a relationship. According to information emerging from the police investigation, they had been in a relationship for some time.

Their relationship, however, reportedly became strained in recent days. Police said the preliminary inquiry indicated that Rehana had been pressuring Salam to marry her. At the same time, Salam allegedly suspected that she was close to another young man.

The combination of the disagreement over marriage and Salam’s suspicion is believed to have intensified tensions between the two.

Argument Allegedly Escalated Into Attack

Police suspect that Rehana and Salam had a serious argument during the night. The exact sequence of events leading to the attack is still being investigated.

During the dispute, Salam allegedly attacked Rehana with a knife. She sustained severe injuries and is believed to have died at the scene.

Officers recovered the body and began investigating the circumstances surrounding the death. The body was subsequently sent to the Osmania Hospital mortuary for a post-mortem examination.

Three Suspects Being Questioned
