A profound tragedy has shaken the community of Mahabubabad district in Telangana after a young female official, undergoing professional training for the state administration, died by suicide late Monday evening. Preliminary details indicate that severe emotional distress, stemming from an alleged breach of a marriage promise and subsequent harassment by the accused individual’s family, led to the decision.
Local law enforcement authorities have initiated a formal investigation into the matter, filing charges against three individuals implicated in the circumstances surrounding her death.
Promising Career Cut Short by Personal Tragedy
The deceased official, identified as Doli Sandhya, was the daughter of Doli Venkateshwarlu and Padma, residents of the Besta Bazar neighborhood in Mahabubabad town. Sandhya had achieved significant professional milestone by securing a role as a Deputy Tahsildar and was actively undergoing administrative training at the Khammam Collectorate.
What appeared to be a bright future in public service was derailed by events unfolding in her personal life. According to officials and family statements, Sandhya had been in a relationship with Tejavath Shyam, a resident of Rekula Thanda in the Seerole Mandal of Mahabubabad district.
Broken Promises and Alleged Intimidation
Local police reports reveal that Shyam had initially approached Sandhya with explicit assurances of affection and a firm commitment to marriage. On the foundation of these assurances, Sandhya believed they would eventually marry with the mutual consent of their households.
However, the situation escalated when Sandhya formally raised the prospect of solemnizing their marriage. Shyam abruptly reneged on his earlier assurances, stating that his parents refused to consent to the union.
The disagreement soon turned into open hostility. When Sandhya’s family attempted to discuss the matter with Shyam's parents—identified as Jamla and Vijaya—the interaction deteriorated into severe verbal abuse. Jamla and Vijaya reportedly confronted Sandhya's family members with harsh language and issued direct threats, leaving the victim in deep psychological distress.
Police Launch Investigation Into the Circumstances
Overwhelmed by the humiliation, betrayal, and relentless pressure, Sandhya took the extreme step on Monday night at her residence, ending her life by hanging. The incident was discovered shortly after, plunging her family and colleagues into mourning.
Following the event, the deceased's mother, Padma, filed a detailed complaint with the local police department outlining the timeline of deceit, intimidation, and emotional abuse endured by her daughter.
Acting on the complaint, the Mahabubabad town police officially registered a criminal case against Tejavath Shyam and his parents, Jamla and Vijaya.
